Con eso en mente, el Newseum en Washington, D.C., Google y YouTube se unieron para lanzar el canal conmemorativo de peridodistas, el Journalists Memorial , en YouTube, para recordar y homenajear a los reporteros que han perdido la vida en el último año mientras realizaban coberturas alrededor del mundo.

El canal se convertirá en la versión digital del Newseum’s Journalists Memorial, que anualmente rinde homenaje en todo el mundo a los periodistas que han perdido la vida en el año precedente. Este año se agregan 77 nombres a la lista de más de 2 mil trabajadores de prensa que han sido reconocidos por sus sacrificios desde 1837. En la ceremonia de hoy, Krishna Bharat, fundador y cabeza de Google News, dará la charla magistral del homenaje, la cual será subida a YouTube por el Newseum.
